Autism, also known as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects social communication and interaction, as well as behavior and sensory processing. Symptoms of autism can vary widely, but may include difficulty with social interaction, delayed speech or language development, repetitive behaviors or routines, sensory sensitivities, and difficulty with nonverbal communication. Autism is a lifelong condition that affects individuals differently, and there is no known cure. However, various interventions and therapies can help individuals with autism manage their symptoms and improve their overall quality of life.
