Fatigue is a state of consistent tiredness or weakness, which can be physical, mental, or a combination of both. It’s more than just feeling drowsy or sleepy. People experiencing fatigue have diminished energy levels, often finding it difficult to perform daily activities. Fatigue can be a symptom of various medical conditions, such as anemia, thyroid conditions, sleep disorders, depression, or chronic fatigue syndrome. It can also result from lifestyle factors like stress, lack of sleep, poor diet, or lack of physical activity. Persistent or severe fatigue should be evaluated by a healthcare provider.
