Manic symptoms refer to the symptoms experienced during a manic episode, which is a state of abnormally elevated or irritable mood, energy, and activity levels. Symptoms of mania may include excessive happiness or euphoria, increased self-esteem, decreased need for sleep, racing thoughts, impulsivity, and reckless behavior. Risperidone has been found to be effective in reducing manic symptoms in patients with bipolar disorder.
